Dr. Bello became the 16th Emir of Gusau in 2015, taking over from his late father. Before ascending the throne, he built a notable career in the civil service, where he served in various capacities and eventually became a Permanent Secretary in the former Sokoto and later Zamfara State.
Reacting to the news, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal expressed sorrow over the monarch’s death, saying it was a painful and personal loss. His spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, conveyed the governor’s condolences to the royal family, the Gusau Emirate, and the people of the state.
Governor Lawal described the late Emir as a man of faith and principle who served his people with integrity and commitment. He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon his soul and comfort for those mourning the loss.
