The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody Abdulazeez Gbadebo, the manager of Emadeb Energy Service Limited, over allegations of diverting N500 million belonging to his employer.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said Gbadebo was apprehended on Thursday by operatives from the Commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate following a petition from the company. The petition came after an external audit reportedly uncovered discrepancies pointing to financial misconduct.
Investigations revealed that Gbadebo allegedly tampered with fuel pump meters to sell bulk petrol and diesel, directing the proceeds into his personal bank accounts. He is said to have sold the products to various individuals while receiving payments privately.
During the operation, EFCC recovered several high-value assets linked to Gbadebo. These included two Mercedes-Benz vehicles, three Mini Coopers, a three-bedroom detached bungalow in Kaduna, three additional landed properties, and key documents such as an authorization letter from Kaduna Geographical Information System (KADGIS) and a certificate of occupancy.
Gbadebo is expected to be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
