The defection was disclosed on Wednesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon.

According to Ahon, the decision followed wide consultations with relevant stakeholders and was driven by the governor’s desire to prioritize the state’s long-term growth and stability.

He described the move as strategic and in the best interest of Delta State.

The governor was warmly received by top APC leaders, a signal that the transition was not only anticipated but also coordinated at high levels within the party.
