Human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi has been granted bail by an Ekiti State Magistrate Court in a defamation case filed by senior lawyer and legal icon, Afe Babalola.

The bail decision was announced on Monday by Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, through his official X handle.

According to Sowore, Farotimi was granted bail set at N50 million, with a surety who must provide landed property as collateral.

The case has been adjourned to January 29, 2025, for further proceedings.
