President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Kano on Friday, July 18, to condole with the government and people of the state over the passing of elder statesman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alasan Dantata.

The visit, announced in a statement on Thursday by the spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, is aimed at honoring the memory of the late business mogul whose contributions to Nigeria’s economic and social development spanned decades.
Governor Yusuf described the visit as a demonstration of national unity and a tribute to the legacy of the late industrialist, urging residents to welcome the President with the traditional hospitality Kano is known for.
He noted that the late Aminu Dantata’s life of service, generosity, and investment had left an enduring impact on countless lives across the country.
“This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect,” the governor said, calling on residents to maintain order and show dignity during the President’s visit.
According to the statement, security and logistics have been put in place to ensure a smooth and dignified visit.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94, in a hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
