Daniel Akpeyi, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, is close to joining Moroka Swallows FC of the South African Premier League.

Akpeyi is currently training with the club after a failed transfer to another South African club, Sekhuhune United.

The club’s chairman, David Mogashoa, has stated that the Beautiful Birds are interested in signing the 36-year-old.

“Yes, Akpeyi is a very good goalkeeper; if he enjoys training with the Swallows, we will make it a permanent arrangement,” Mogashoa told Goal South Africa.

The shot stopper was released by Kaizer Chiefs in July after his contract expired.

He previously played in the South African Premier League for Chippa United.
