Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Tajuddeen Dantata, son of the late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, on Tuesday welcomed a high-powered delegation from Kano and Jigawa states in Madina, Saudi Arabia, as the family prepares for the funeral rites of the late philanthropist.

According to a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the delegation was led by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, accompanied by his Jigawa counterpart, Governor Umar Namadi, and former Jigawa Governor Barr. Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu.
The Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, was also part of the delegation that met with the bereaved family at the Mobeed Hotel in Madina, where they offered their condolences and joined in prayers for the soul of the deceased.
Tajuddeen Dantata, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed deep appreciation to the delegation for the visit, describing it as a powerful show of unity and a reflection of the love and respect his late father earned throughout his lifetime.
Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who is also a member of the Dantata family, thanked the governors and dignitaries for standing by the family during their period of mourning.
A special prayer session for the late Aminu Dantata was led by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, drawing hundreds of mourners who gathered to honour the legacy of the late elder statesman. The prayer session, held after the Asr prayer at the Holy Mosque, emphasized Dantata’s enduring contributions to charity, community development, and economic growth in Nigeria.
Other notable figures present included the Emir of Karaye, Dr. Muhammad Mahraz, and Chairman of the Kano Business Community, Alhaji Sabiu Bako.
