The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 1,368 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The new development brings the total number of recorded infections in the country to 148,296.

The health agency made the announcement on Tuesday night via a report on its official website.

According to the report, no fewer than 16 people died in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 complications, as total fatalities now stand at 1,777.

NCDC also confirmed the discharge of 1,020 patients in three states, bringing the total number of recoveries to 124,483.
