The defendants are Kazeem Yusuf, 28, Ismaila Ajanaku, 35; Abiodun Joseph, 21, and Taye Saliu, 28.

Magistrate M.O. Daudu, who did not take their pleas, ordered that they should be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The magistrate adjourned the case until Feb. 18 for mention .

The defendants  are facing charges of conspiracy, unlawful assembly and unlawful possession of firearms.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Rachael Williams, told the court that the defendants committed the offences with some others at large, on Dec. 10  at 1.00 p.m. at Mosafejo Road, Agbowa,  Ikorodu, Lagos.

Williams said that the police caught the  defendants with three locally-made single-barrel guns and two live cartridges, which they could not give account of.
