A Kano State High Court has ruled that the Kano State Government must pay Tiamin Multi Services Global Limited N2.635 billion in compensation and damages over the unlawful revocation and demolition of the company’s hospital project in Gyadi Gyadi.

Justice Ibrahim Karaye, who delivered the judgment on Wednesday, stated that the government’s actions during former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration violated the Land Use Act. The court found that the revocation notice was issued without prior notice or a fair hearing, making it null and void. Consequently, the Certificates of Occupancy for the land remain valid.

The court further condemned the demolition of the property while the case was still ongoing, describing it as “unconstitutional, illegal, and unlawful.” The compensation awarded includes N2.125 billion in special damages, N500 million in general damages, and N10 million for court costs.

Additionally, the court ordered the government to immediately vacate the property and prohibited any interference with the company’s ownership and possession of the land.
