The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) has announced that Alhaji Usman Yahaya Kansila, Chairman and CEO of UYK Consortium, will receive an Honorary Degree (Honoris Causa) at its maiden convocation ceremony.

The announcement was made official in a letter dated November 5, 2025, signed by the university Registrar, Ms. Olufunke E. Hudson. The letter confirmed that the university’s Senate and Governing Council unanimously approved Kansila’s nomination in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of education in Kogi State and across Nigeria.

The first convocation is scheduled for Saturday, 29th November, at the CUSTECH campus in Osara.

Ms. Hudson described the honorary degree as “a rare recognition” and extended congratulations to Kansila on behalf of the university’s management, staff, and students. She added that the award reflects CUSTECH’s appreciation for individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to advancing education.

The institution expressed confidence that Kansila’s recognition would strengthen collaborations aimed at furthering educational growth in the state.
