The Kano state government has cautioned residents on maintaining personal and environmental hygiene as it moves to control the spread of cholera in the state.
The state Commissioner for health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa, advised in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN ) on Tuesday, saying the government was doing its best to control the situation.
He said that despite the control of the situation, it was vital for people to be vigilant and take precautionary measures.
“People must refrain from using water from sanitary sources and avoid open defecation, as well as ensure proper disposal of human waste in their communities,” the Commissioner emphasised.
NAN recalls that some local government areas in the state recorded cholera cases a month ago, which caused a lot of panic amongst residents. (NAN)
