Globally acclaimed Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adichie, has revealed the release of her new novel, Dream Count, marking the end of a decade-long wait for her readers.

Scheduled for release on 3 March 2025, the novel will be published by 4th Estate in the UK and Commonwealth, and by Knopf in the US and Canada.

Announcing the news on her Instagram page, Adichie expressed her excitement, stating: “Dream Count is serious, curious, probing, and funny. The writing process has been arduous, but also filled with ardour. I am deeply excited about this book. I am so proud to have finished it. I cannot wait for my wonderful fans to read it.”

The novel delves into the intertwined lives of four women—Chiamaka, a Nigerian travel writer, Zikora, a successful lawyer, Omelogor, a bold financial powerhouse, and Kadiatou, a housekeeper facing an unexpected hardship. Through their stories, Dream Count explores themes of love, longing, and self-discovery.

Adichie’s latest work promises to take readers on a reflective journey, posing existential questions such as whether true happiness is attainable and how honest one must be to love and be loved.

Adichie, a highly decorated writer, is known for her critically acclaimed works such as Purple Hibiscus (2003), Half of a Yellow Sun (2006), and Americanah (2013). Her works have been translated into over 55 languages, and she has received numerous awards, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and the Orange Prize.

In 2023, she published a children’s book titled Mama’s Sleeping Scarf under the pseudonym Nwa Grace-James. Adichie continues to make waves as a public speaker, with her TED Talk The Danger of a Single Story being one of the most-viewed TED Talks of all time. She resides in both Nigeria and the United States.
