A veteran journalist and former lawmaker in the Second Republic, Alhaji Sidi Ali is dead.

The deceased is the father of the recently appointed spokesperson of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Hakama Sidi Ali.

It was learnt that the elder statesman and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) elders committee in Kano State died on Thursday.

Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker announced the development in a post on his official Facebook page on Thursday night.

Ali had worked at the Nigerian International Press Centre, Ministry of Information and National Broadcasting Commission, among others.
