Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan underwent surgery on Thursday following multiple stab wounds during an attempted burglary at his Mumbai home, according to a statement from his public relations team.

“There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence,” the statement read, adding, “We urge fans to be patient.” Khan, 54, is known for his extensive career spanning over 70 films and television series. He is married to Kareena Kapoor, a leading Bollywood actress.
Kapoor, speaking to local media, said, “Saif Ali Khan had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital. The rest of the family is doing fine.”
The actor, son of the late Indian cricket legend Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and celebrated actress Sharmila Tagore, is best known for his roles in the 2001 blockbuster Dil Chahta Hai and the acclaimed Netflix crime series Sacred Games.
Niraj Uttamani, a senior official at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, told The Hindustan Times that Khan sustained six injuries, including two that were deeper and required surgical intervention.
Images broadcast by the Press Trust of India showed police conducting forensic examinations at Khan’s residence as investigations continue.
