The event took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at BUK’s new campus in Kano and was sponsored by Indomie. Whitworth painted 17 faces in 2 minutes and 40 seconds during his first attempt and repeated the same number in 2 minutes and 50 seconds in his second attempt.

On his third try, he painted 20 faces in 2 minutes and 55 seconds, surpassing the current record of 12 faces held by Slovakia’s Emilia Zakonnova. Speaking after the event, Whitworth said he was motivated by a desire to showcase Nigerian talent.

Students and attendees expressed admiration for his effort. Fellow students Sulaiman Haruna and Aisha cheered him on, with Haruna praying for his success and Aisha praising his speed. Attendee Jimoh Momoh described the attempt as “remarkable.” Indomie expressed pride in sponsoring the event and supporting initiatives that encourage youth creativity.

Guinness World Records will review Whitworth’s performance before officially confirming him as the record holder.
