A midnight building collapse in Zaria, Kaduna State, has claimed the lives of a mother and three children, leaving the community in grief.

A relative of the deceased, Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim, said the tragedy happened in the early hours of Wednesday, between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., when a neighbour’s mud wall gave way and fell on their room after heavy rainfall.
The victims were identified as Mallama Habiba Nuhu, her two daughters, Hauwa’u Nuhu and Aina’u Nuhu, and a grandson, Za’uma. Habiba’s husband, Mallam Nuhu Dogara, was rescued alive from the rubble. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Reacting to the incident, Bello Garba, Zone 1 Coordinator of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), said the agency had not yet received an official report but assured that the matter would be followed up for immediate assessment.
