Buba Galadima, an elder statesman, has stated that rumours about Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) are false.

He did, however, acknowledge Kwankwaso and the NNPP’s willingness to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu in the interest of Nigeria.

The NNPP chieftain claimed that President Tinubu has performed admirably since taking office on May 29.

He made the submissions during an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday.

“Kwankwaso has not told anyone he is joining the APC; people are just talking,” Galadima said. “What we have before is winner take all; if Tinubu is calling for a unity government, that is not a bad thing.”

Following some meetings between the two political leaders following the 2023 elections, it has been suggested that Kwankwaso may take up an appointment within Tinubu’s government.

The Chairman of INEC Should Be Fired

During the interview, Galadima also demanded that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, be fired.

Galadima claimed that the INEC chairman conspired with others to subvert Nigerians’ will at the polls.

As a result, he urged President Bola Tinubu to fire the INEC chairman.

“The INEC chairman must resign; what he did was inadequate in comparison to what Godwin Emefiele did.” He conspired with others to undermine Nigerians’ will. “He committed the greatest crime anyone has ever committed,” he said.
