On Friday morning, residents of Aladja community in Delta State’s Udu Local Government Area reported that residents of Ogbe-Ijoh community in Warri South-West Local Government were allegedly shooting sporadically at their (Aladja) community.

According to the DAILY POST, this came as the 7-day deadline they gave the State Boundary Demarcation Committee to replace buildings allegedly destroyed in the area expired.

Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi, an Aladja community indigene, raised the alarm in a phone conversation with our correspondent in Warri.

“At the moment, no one has been injured or killed,” he said, “but the area is tense.”

“We are urging the relevant security agencies, including the Delta State Government, to come to the aid of the people of Aladja before the situation worsens.”

He did, however, warn that the Aladja would not fold their arms and let the attackers go free.

Members of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Interest Defensive Forum had previously claimed that their buildings had been illegally destroyed while boundary demarcation lines were being drawn.
