The incident triggered panic among residents, as security operatives and emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist victims and secure the area.
Preliminary investigations by the Kano State Police Command indicate that the explosives may have been on a truck allegedly heading to Yobe State. However, it is yet to be confirmed if the vehicle was owned by the military.
The Commissioner of Police said five of the 15 victims have died, while the remaining 10 are receiving treatment in the hospital. The scene of the blast has since been cordoned off as authorities continue their investigation.
Officials have urged the public to remain calm and pledged to release a full report once investigations are concluded.
