Mohammed made this known after a private meeting with Obi at the Government House in Bauchi. He commended Obi’s political approach, describing him as a statesman with a deep understanding of governance and economic policies. According to Mohammed, Obi’s ability to present issues with statistical clarity and his vision for the country make him a key figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.

During their discussions, both leaders addressed pressing national issues, including the state of opposition politics and the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. Mohammed acknowledged Obi’s role in shaping the opposition, describing him as a driving force for change.

Emphasizing the need for unity, Mohammed expressed his belief that a stronger opposition coalition is essential to rescuing the country from ineffective leadership. He also voiced confidence that other governors would support their alliance, signaling a broader push for opposition cohesion.

Obi’s visit to Bauchi was part of his ongoing consultations on Nigeria’s challenges. He underscored the importance of addressing poverty as a means to curb criminal activities, particularly in the northern region. He also advocated for increased investment in education and agriculture as vital strategies for economic empowerment and crime reduction.
