Details of the attack were shared on Thursday by Bakatsine, a journalist who reports on conflict and insecurity in Nigeria’s northwest, through a post on X.
According to him, two additional residents sustained injuries during the assault, which adds to a growing list of violent incidents troubling communities in the Sokoto East Senatorial District. He explained that villages in the area have faced near-daily raids from groups linked to Turji’s network, creating widespread fear among locals as security agencies continue to struggle with the worsening situation.
Residents say the repeated attacks have further strained life in the border communities, many of which have been deserted in recent months due to persistent threats from armed groups. Authorities are yet to announce any arrests or major breakthroughs in curbing the renewed wave of violence.
