Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State, has alleged that bandits fed newborn twins to their dogs after abducting their mother, describing the incident as one of the most horrifying outcomes of the worsening insecurity in the state.

Jaji made the revelation while addressing journalists at the National Assembly, where he painted a grim picture of the situation in his constituency. He said Kaura Namoda Local Government Area alone had witnessed over 200 attacks by armed groups.

The lawmaker expressed frustration over what he described as the federal government’s silence despite repeated calls for help. He said many communities have been deserted, with residents forced to flee due to constant attacks.

He warned that if the government fails to act swiftly, the violence could spread beyond Zamfara and threaten national stability. Jaji appealed to President Bola Tinubu and all relevant security agencies to intervene immediately.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has pledged to step up efforts to restore peace across the country. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, also expressed concern over the crisis, linking it to instability in the Sahel region.

Jaji stressed that addressing insecurity requires a collective effort, urging Nigerians to unite across political and religious lines to confront the threat.
