In a viral video, Atiku had accused Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth and Sports Development Ayodele Olawande of offering him N100 million in exchange for his support of President Tinubu. Atiku further alleged that when he rejected the offer, he was abducted.
In a detailed apology posted on his Facebook page, Atiku retracted his statements, admitting they were false. Atiku revealed that he had been misled by Ladoja Olusola, who he claims manipulated him for personal gain within NANS. Atiku stated that Olusola spread false information to serve his own agenda of seizing control of the student organization.
The apology also addressed another false claim, where Atiku had alleged that Seyi Tinubu sent thugs to disrupt his inauguration. He clarified that Seyi was never present at the event, further acknowledging that the earlier accusations were completely fabricated.
In his statement, Atiku expressed sincere regret for spreading the misinformation and apologized to Seyi Tinubu for the harm caused. He admitted that his earlier actions were a result of manipulation and misguidance.
