Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Malam Isma’il Musa, as the state’s substantive Auditor-General.

This followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Public Account at plenary in Kano.

The report was presented by the chairman of the committee Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim(APC -Doguwa).

The house also directed for the stoppage of construction of corner shops at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Fagge, following the adoption of a motion of urgent public concern by Alhaji Tukur Muhammad (NNPP-Fagge) at plenary.

Presenting the motion, Muhammad faulted the construction of the shops and sought for the stoppage of construction work which was on France Road,  Sabon-Gari in Fagge Local Government Area (LGA) of  the  state.

The house also directed its committees on Health, Environment and Land to visit the Hospital and report back on Tuesday.

Similarly, the house received a letter from the Clerk of the National Assembly on the Constitution (fifth alteration) bill,2022 requesting for its resolution in line with Section 9(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 as amended.

The letter was handed over to the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Alhaji Garba Gezawa for further legislative actions after the content of the letter was read to the members by the Speaker in the floor of the House.

Further more, the bill for the state harmonised retirement age for teachers and the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital amendment bill also scaled first reading at the house.

The house also appointed its only remaining Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, Malam Lawal Rabiu as the Minority Whip. (NAN)
