Hon. Isah Sadeeq Achida, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, condemned the assault, describing it as “barbaric and an act of cowardice.” He criticized the targeting of innocent worshippers in a sacred place as a reflection of moral decay among the attackers.

Achida further urged the community to unite against the growing threat of banditry, emphasizing that the attack was not only an assault on human lives but also on shared faith and values. He reassured residents that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, is intensifying efforts to tackle the menace and bring the perpetrators to justice.

So far, the Sokoto State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding casualties or possible kidnappings related to the incident.
