A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Ibrahim Dan’azumi Gwarzo, has denied reports of internal divisions within the party, describing the perceived cracks as unfounded.
Gwarzo, while speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, clarified that the existence of camps within the party does not pose any threat to its unity or plans for the future.

“To have a group; to have interest; to have what you call houses; there is nothing wrong with that in as much as there will be coordination when it comes to elections or congresses. I think it is because of the size of the party,” Gwarzo said.
He further noted that the APC’s current dominance in 19 states is expected to grow, adding, “This is a ruling party. This is a party with 19 states and by 2027, the projection is to have 30 states. So, it is because of the size. As much as everybody will play by the rules of the game, I don’t think there is going to be any problem.”
Responding to concerns about multiple camps in Kano State, including those aligned with Barau Jibrin, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Gawuna/Garo, Gwarzo emphasized that such groupings strengthen the party rather than weaken it.
“When the Deputy Senate President started this issue of inviting people from other camps, from the NNPP wing to join the APC, he did it in consultation with the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. It was with his permission. So, there’s nothing wrong with that. I think it is a very good thing. That’s why they are retreating,” he added.
Gwarzo expressed confidence that the party will remain coordinated and united as it prepares for future elections.
