The announcement was made on Thursday during the party’s 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, disclosing the decision.

Nentawe’s appointment was confirmed following a motion raised and seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. He was immediately sworn in, taking the oath of office in the presence of top party officials.

A native of Plateau State, Nentawe was the APC’s governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.
