Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli is reportedly ready to activate Victor Osimhen’s release clause to secure a summer transfer from Napoli.

Osimhen, who has attracted interest from several top European teams, is set to leave Napoli, but the Italian club will only sell if his €120 million (£101m/$129m) release clause is met.

Despite interest from Paris-Saint Germain and Chelsea, Napoli’s high asking price has deterred them. However, Al-Ahli appears determined, with reports suggesting they are prepared to meet the release clause.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that Al-Ahli had made an initial bid exceeding €65 million, though no agreement has been reached yet.

Romano stated: “Al Ahli have submitted initial bid to Napoli for Victor Osimhen for package in excess of €65m. Napoli are prepared to let him go but NO agreement between Nigerian striker and Al Ahli so far. Deal still far on player side, Osimhen will consider options + not open to loan.”

Osimhen enjoyed a standout season with Napoli in 2022-23, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 32 appearances, contributing to their Serie A title win. However, his form has dipped this season, and tensions with Napoli’s management have increased the likelihood of his departure.
