The Psychiatry Department of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano will mark World Epilepsy Day tomorrow Monday 14th February, 2022 at Comprehensive Health Center Kumbotso in Kumbotso Local Government Area and Federal Government College Kano along Zaria Road on Tuesday,15th February 2022 respectively.

According to the statement issued by the Chairman Local Organising Committee through Hauwa Abdullahi, AKTH Spokesperson, Chief Nursing Officer/Psychiatric Nurse, Sulaiman Mahmoud stated that “it is high time to collectively speak up on these common mental health challenges and various experiences of those affected.

He added that the aim of the sensitisation is to also close the gap in stigma and social discrimination as well as to raise public awareness on the different mental illnesses.

CNO, Suleman then urged the general public to acquaint themselves with the knowledge of these mental health problems with a view to assisting those affected in the management and care.
