A fresh attack has been launched on Kurmin Masara in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State by gunmen.

It was gathered that the attack started late night on Monday and lasted for several hours as the gunmen continued to shoot sporadically till 1.00am on Tuesday.

The attack is coming less than 24 hours after gunmen stormed Kurmin Masara community, killing eleven persons, burning over thirty houses amongst other properties.

Youth leader of Atyap Chiefdom, Gabriel Joseph confirmed the attack on Tuesday morning.

According to him, residents of Kurmin Masara deserted their community during the Sunday attack, the gunmen decided to attack Atisa, a nearby settlement of the same Kurmin Masara axis.

He said the gunmen shot freely as there were no security personnel to counter them, just as the vigilantes in the area ran for their dear lives.

Joseph, who could not confirm if anyone was killed during the attack, said foodstuff, animals were carted away by gunmen.

The youth leader called on the government to take a serious action to defend and protect citizens and their properties.

No official confirmation of the fresh attack as the Kaduna Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, was not reached as at when filing the report.
