Chairman sitting at the debate/dialogue between Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara and Kano Islamic scholars, Professor Salisu Shehu, has implored the Kano state government to take the next necessary action to ensure peace, law and order the state.
This is in a communique signed by the chairman, along with three other communique drafting committees at the end of the conduct of debate/dialogue between Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara and Kano Islamic scholars held at the shari’a commission.
The communique pointed, “In line with the verdict passed by the chairman, Prof. Salihu Shehu at the end of the debate that it is clearly established that several questions raised in six rounds of the dialogue by the coalition of the ulama to Abduljabbar Nasir Kabara were not satisfactorily answered; instead, he mixed up the issues, going off track and introducing irrelevant topics.
On the strength of the above, the chairman implored the state Gov’t to take the next necessary line of action to ensure peace, law, and order in the state”.
Kano state government had organized the debate/dialogue session following persistent public outcry and complaints from the concerned majority segment of the Ulama in the state on the manner exhibited and statements made by the cleric in his preaching, lectures and writing regarding prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions.
Consequently, it convened the dialogue to give the cleric opportunity to defend and prove his contentious viewpoints as he requested.
During the session chaired by the Director Centre for Islamic Civilization and interfaith dialogue, Bayero University, Kano, a total of six questions and answers were held with equal allocation of time to both sides.
Also, the main questions by the representatives of the Ulama revolved around the use of vulgar, inappropriate and defamatory language, which Nasir Kabara was accused of in his teachings summons and preaching.
Meanwhile, the chairman, presenters, and others commended the State Government under Abdullahi Ganduje for giving support during and after the fair hearing to both parties.
