Speaking on Sunday at Bayero University Kano (BUK) during a stakeholder engagement with academics and community leaders, Zaura explained that the plan follows extensive dialogue with Daba group members and later expanded to include scholars, teachers, security agencies, and business leaders.

The foundation’s approach emphasizes empathetic engagement, aiming to understand the motivations and aspirations of youths involved in Daba activities. Zaura highlighted that the initiative goes beyond curbing violence, seeking to restore dignity, reclaim potential, and reinforce the moral fabric of communities.

Collaboration is central to the anti-Daba campaign, involving parents, educators, religious leaders, security agencies, and government officials to ensure a comprehensive response. Education and vocational training were stressed as critical tools for rehabilitating vulnerable youths and preventing further violence.

Zaura reiterated his foundation’s commitment to pursuing innovative solutions, stressing that Kano youths should be seen as part of the solution rather than a burden to society.
