Daily News 24 reports that this was contained in a press release issued on Saturday, by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. The statement noted that Governor Yusuf visited the affected site, where he sympathized with business owners who suffered losses estimated at over N8 billion. He assured them of his administration’s commitment to rebuilding the area and restoring their livelihoods.

Governor Yusuf directed the Ministry of Commerce, the Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), and the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) to clear the debris and redesign the site to prevent future occurrences. He also disclosed plans to connect the industrial hub to the Tiga Independent Power Plant for stable electricity and install solar-powered streetlights to improve security.

To further support affected businesses, he instructed the Commissioner of Investment, Commerce, and Industries, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, to open a special account for donations. He urged the Federal Government, business leaders, and other stakeholders to contribute towards rehabilitating the affected businesses.

“This is a time for unity and collective action,” Governor Yusuf said. “Together, we can rebuild Dakata Small Scale Industry and restore it to its former glory. My administration remains committed to empowering our youth and creating opportunities within the recovering industry.”
