During Thursday’s plenary session, lawmakers adopted Tinubu’s proclamation through a voice vote, with 243 members in attendance. The House also made key recommendations to address the crisis, including the formation of a national committee to mediate and restore peace in the state.

Additionally, the lawmakers proposed that the National Assembly take over the functions of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months, citing the collapse of governance structures.
