The Kano State Government has directed civil servants to verify their March salaries before disbursement to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Faruk Umar Ibrahim, announced the directive on Monday, stating that the measure was taken to address concerns over deductions and irregularities in January and February salaries.

Civil servants are required to confirm their salaries through their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and report any discrepancies. To facilitate this, salary lists will be displayed at strategic locations within MDAs and local government secretariats.

A committee, led by the Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, has been set up to oversee the verification process and ensure the timely payment of March salaries.

The government has assured workers that, despite the verification exercise, salaries will be paid on time, especially with the approaching Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
