Mohammed, a 21-year-old Fulani man from Baban Saural village in Kaduna State, was a key figure among bandit groups operating in Rijana Forest. He was identified as a hitman for major criminal syndicates responsible for high-profile kidnappings and killings, with millions of naira collected in ransom.
His criminal activities were brought to an end on March 3, 2025, when operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit apprehended him at Gidan Abe Forest. Authorities recovered an AK-49 rifle, ammunition, and N3 million in cash, suspected to be proceeds from previous kidnappings.
During a subsequent operation, Mohammed attempted to escape but was fatally wounded by members of his own gang. He was later confirmed dead at Kubwa General Hospital.
The police commended the officers involved in the operation for their bravery and professionalism, reaffirming their commitment to curbing criminal activities in the FCT and its surroundings.
