The state’s Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Musa Ismaila, confirmed that 11 samples were sent to the National Reference Laboratory in Abuja for testing, with two returning negative while nine results are still pending.

In response to the outbreak, the Kebbi State government has allocated N30 million to procure medications and essential supplies. It has also partnered with the World Health Organisation (WHO), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to curb the spread. These efforts include advocacy visits, drug distribution, and the establishment of isolation centers in the affected areas.

Health authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspected cases promptly, and adhere to medical advice to prevent further fatalities.
