Commissioner for Education, Dr. Muhammed Lawal, who presided over the inauguration in Bauchi on Wednesday, stated that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to incorporating non-formal education into the formal system.

He explained that the committee would oversee the implementation of guidelines, ensure accurate data collection, and facilitate the smooth adoption of the new curriculum.

Lawal underscored the significance of combining formal education with Islamic teachings, encouraging parents to take advantage of the government’s efforts in expanding access to education. According to him, the objective is to ensure that every child receives quality education, regardless of whether they attend Islamiyya or conventional schools.

Chairman of the Bauchi State House of Assembly’s Committee on Education, Mr. Nasir Ala, commended the initiative, noting that integrating Tsangaya and Quranic schools into the formal education system would help bridge educational gaps.

He expressed confidence that the move would offer students a more comprehensive learning experience.
