Former Kaduna Central Senatorial District lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has attributed his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Governor Uba Sani’s reconciliation efforts across Kaduna State.

Sani, a human rights activist, made this known while speaking on Hard Copy, a programme on Channels Television.

He stated that he was a founding member of the APC in Kaduna and played a role in establishing its structures before leaving in 2018 due to controversies over primary elections.

Sani after his departure, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and contested for a senatorial seat but lost to Governor Uba Sani in 2019.

On February 16, the former lawmaker officially rejoined the APC alongside members of the PDP and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Sani explained that his exit from the APC was due to political and personal disagreements with former Governor Nasir El-Rufai. However, he noted that the circumstances that led to his departure had changed, prompting his return to the party.
