Two police officers on special duty in Jos, Plateau State, have been killed in a shootout with suspected kidnappers during a botched abduction attempt.

Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred in the Little Rayfield area of Jos South Local Government Area.

He added that four suspects had been apprehended in connection with the attack.

Alabo disclosed that the slain officers were attached to the Force Investigation Department in Abuja and were on a special assignment in Jos. He noted that investigations into the case were ongoing.
