The convicts-Abdurrahman Ado Soja, Rabi’u Muhammad, and Hamisu Ibrahim-were convicted of stealing farm produce from the property of Alhaji Hamisu Alasan Zabainawa in Gabasawa. The court heard that after the farm owner identified one of them, they killed him.

Throughout the trial, the defendants insisted on their innocence, but the prosecution, led by Barrister Bashir Saleh, presented three witnesses to support the case. Justice Amina Adamu ruled that the prosecution had established the charges beyond reasonable doubt, leading to the conviction.

Following the verdict, the defense counsel, Barrister Musa Abubakar, disclosed plans to appeal the judgment.
