Yahuza Adamu, Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations for NYSC in Benue, confirmed the decision in a statement released on Thursday. He explained that the move followed a recent attack that claimed over 20 lives, including 16 farmers whose bodies were found in River Katsina-Ala.

A headcount conducted by the NYSC Kwande Local Government Inspector confirmed that all corps members in the area were safe and accounted for. However, Adamu noted that those serving in Jato Acka Turan, a distant location from the troubled community, were not considered to be at risk.

The NYSC assured that it has proactive measures in place to safeguard corps members and will continue working with security agencies to ensure their protection.
