The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday, following the bill’s assent during the 25th Kano State Executive Council meeting.

The legislation, passed by the state House of Assembly, is designed to bolster security efforts and curb crime across Kano. It aligns with the state government’s broader agenda of enhancing security and fostering socioeconomic progress.

During the signing ceremony at the Government House in Kano, Governor Yusuf also assented to two additional bills-the Kano State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (Amendment) bill and the Kano State Centre for Disease Control and Prevention bill. The event was attended by top government officials, lawmakers, and Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Kano residents, Governor Yusuf stressed the importance of policies that drive security and economic development.
