The incident occurred on Friday, with eyewitnesses reporting that a heated argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in Kosisochukwu allegedly using a stick to pierce his brother’s chest, leading to his death. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the arrest on Saturday, stating that Kosisochukwu was taken into custody by police operatives and vigilante operatives in Abagana at 7 pm on Friday. According to Ikenga, the suspect confessed to engaging in a fight with his brother over the use of foodstuffs in their home.

Ikenga emphasized the importance of addressing domestic violence and conflicts within families, highlighting the need for healthy and constructive conflict management to avoid devastating consequences.

The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, and Kosisochukwu will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
