Spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident, stating that it had occurred on Wednesday morning.

Upon arrival, they found a family house ablaze, with 17 rooms and a store severely affected. The fire claimed the lives of two cows, 36 sheep, 17 goats, 10 chickens, and destroyed 19 local food storage units. It also spread to another residence where several rooms, one food storage unit, eight sheep, and three goats were lost.

Despite the intensity of the fire, emergency responders managed to rescue two sheep, four cows, and three local storage animals, preventing further destruction in the area. However, one firefighter sustained burns while battling the flames.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
