The Northern Christians Accord (NCA) has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest and prosecute former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over alleged N423 billion fraud.
The ultimatum was issued in a statement signed by NCA President Barr. Gideon Jato and Secretary Bro. Sunday Adoka on Thursday.

The statement accused the EFCC of selective justice, questioning why the agency has not acted on El-Rufai’s indictment by the Kaduna State House of Assembly despite pursuing other political figures.
The NCA alleged that the EFCC’s handling of corruption cases amounts to political witch-hunting, citing the recent moves against former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
The NCA warned that if the EFCC fails to act within the given timeframe, it will mobilize mass protests across the 19 northern states.
On July 10, 2024, the Kaduna Assembly reaffirmed that El-Rufai must answer for the alleged misappropriation of N432billion, including N423billion diversion and money laundering, which he denies.
The Assembly’s Adhoc Committee Chairman, Henry Magaji, said the investigation uncovered large-scale fraud under El-Rufai’s administration.
