A senior member of the Zazzau Emirate Council, Alhaji Rilwan Pate, collapsed and died on Thursday during an event in Kaduna State attended by the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Pate, who was the councillor in charge of health matters, suddenly fell ill at the gathering. He was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The Zazzau Emirate Council confirmed his passing, with its Media and Publicity Officer, Abdullahi Kwarbai, expressing deep sorrow. He described Pate as a dedicated and hardworking leader whose absence would be deeply felt.
Emir Bamalli extended his condolences to Pate’s family, describing his death as a great loss. He praised Pate’s strong work ethic and religious devotion, noting that his contributions would be difficult to replace.
Alhaji Rilwan Pate was buried on Thursday evening at Rimin Dodo in line with Islamic rites.
