In a statement released on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, highlighted the risks posed by activities such as “dancing, washing, singing, and other activities on roads,” noting that they not only cause unnecessary traffic congestion but also threaten public safety.

According to Kiyawa, obstructing highways and disrupting public order are “serious offenses under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He further explained that such actions could result in accidents, injuries, and property damage.

“The Kano State Police Command hereby warns all individuals and groups involved in these activities to desist immediately. Parents and guardians are also advised to caution their wards against participating in such activities,” the statement read.

He emphasized the Command’s commitment to maintaining public safety and order, stating, “The Command is committed to maintaining public safety and order, and will not hesitate to take necessary measures to address this issue. This may include arresting and prosecuting offenders.”
