Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed his frustration over the club’s failure to offer him a new contract as he approaches the final year of his current deal.

The Egyptian forward, who joined Liverpool in 2017 and has been instrumental in their success, hinted at the possibility of leaving Anfield for free when his contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Speaking after his remarkable two-goal performance in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory against Southampton, Salah said, “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in.”

The 32-year-old has proven his enduring worth this season, scoring 12 goals across all competitions and helping Liverpool secure an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Despite his contributions, Salah expressed uncertainty about his future with the club.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands,” he explained.

Salah is among three pivotal Liverpool players, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts are set to expire soon. Without renewals, all three will be eligible to negotiate with overseas clubs starting in January.

When asked if he felt let down by the club’s lack of action, Salah admitted, “Of course, yeah. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

Despite his disappointment, Salah remains focused on his current goals, saying, “I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season, and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well.”
